As a proud and honoured Captain of Athy Golf Club may I take this opportunity to welcome you to our club website.
As we are in our 107th year and this being the year of the gathering can I offer an open invitation to past friends and members who are now overseas to come visit us this year.
We are very proud of our hidden gem here in the midlands a fine course and an excellent test to all handicap golfers. Our clubhouse and facilities are second to none and a warm welcome is always assured.
I look forward to working with the new committee in particular our Lady Captain Gabrielle Craig , our Men's President Con Doyle and Lady President Ena Harkin
Social nights are a guarantee.

A word from our Lady Captain - Gabrielle Craig
As Lady Captain of Athy Golf Club for 2013 , I would like to take this opportunity to say how proud I am to represent the Club for the coming year.
I have been a member of the club since the 80s and I have seen many honourable and capable people represent the Club over the years. I have also witnessed the Club grow from a formidable nine hole course to become one of the best 18 hole courses in the midlands.
Visitors are always warmly welcome to come and enjoy our top class facilities and play a relaxing and memorable round of golf.
I am proud to represent a very active and sociable Ladies Section .We are very honoured to host the Mid-Leinster I.L.G.U District Finals for 2013 on August 31st.
With a great team on board, Lady President, Ena Harkin, Lady Vice Captain, Liz Griffin and all the committee, we are looking forward to a memorable and successful year.
To our Men’s Captain, Ivor Hegarty, and his team I wish every success and am sure we can rely on “many a good night” and some lively social occasions.
Finally, with all of our members support, the valiant work of our volunteers plus the excellent work of our Course Team and Catering Staff, we hope to continue to promote our club and ensure that it continues to grow into the future.

Gabrielle Craig Lady Captain 2013
Hole 5 is the second of four Par 5's on the course. It is a long and difficult par 5 and being accurate from the tee is a must. The fairway is flanked to the left by a small forest and to the right is the 14th fairway. The front and left of the green have a water hazard and the right of the green is protected by bunkers so accuracy is the key.
Hole 16 is Index 1. It features the most undulating fairway on the course. If your tee shot is too long you risk running into a small forest, too short and you don't have a shot to the green. Birdies are rare on this hole.
From Dublin
Head west along the N7/M7 until Junction 11 signposted M9 Kilcullen/Waterford. Take the second exit signposted Athy. Continue along this road until you hit a roundabout. Take the third exit. Take a left just after the Texaco service station and follow the road past the Clannard Hotel. Take a right at the bottom of this road and Athy Golf Club is approximately 1km up that road on the right.
